What did we want to achieve by implementing our project? The main reason why we wanted to carry out this project was our great wish and need to improve the situation of a very low level of physical activities among young people. For many years, we, youth workers are observing how our young people are becoming more more “siting generation”. It is very alarming situation. Since many researchers proves, that there is strong connections between body and mind; between physical activity and cognition. Moreover, according to experts, lack of physical activity can lead to mental health problems. Poor mental health means unemployment, poor education, poorer physical health and increased health-risk behavior. In Poland reports show that more than half of teenagers (70%) have limited physical activity due to overuse of electronic devices. In Poland, Spain, Italy or Norway - so-called “sedentary behavior” of young people is mainly related to the usage of electronic devices (computer, tablet, smartphone) both for learning (on-line universities, schools) and for free-time (computer games, social media). It seems like PAndemic restrictions wree long time ago, however it still has the impact. Especially due to pandemic restrictions, such as on-line schools and universities, "stay at home" (on one hand, necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19) reduced dramatically physical activity of young people. Due to recent researches, anxiety and depression increased considerably in Europe during 2020, compared with 2018. Low level of physical activity have very negative impacts not only on health system (early heart diseases, overweight, depression) but also on the general life-long learning, in other words personal development of our youth. Our main aim of this TC was to exchange experience, learn with and from each other in the terms of movement-based learning. In other words, how to implement in our everyday youth work as much as possible mindful physical activities. By gaining and developing skills and knowledge about how we can use different movement techniques and activities in youth work, we wanted to improve our effectiveness and quality. Moreover, movement is an real and natural way to strengthen learning abilities, improve memory and enhance motivation and self-confidence, which are essencial for life=long learning. It was also the best tool that helps to realise stress and tension, which are so often happening among young people. It is important to find way how to deal with "blocked negative emotions" , since very often they turn into radicalisation, youth crimes or totally passive attitude in society. 2 important needs were addressed with our project: - need to create a space for youth workers to learn tools and methods how to improve own body-awareness, and how to implement movement-based approach in own development and life-long learning in order to boost well being and creativity within oneself, and increase confidence and productivity in own professional life; - need to exchange and learn new tools and methods on how to navigate young people in that turbulent times; What were the objectives of our project? - explore nature of movement in the context of life-long learning of young people - research and develop efficient ways to improve own youth work by implementing different types of movement exercises (theater exercises, dance exercises, body-awareness energizers etc) - exchange good practices and experience of already implemented successful projects and ideas - build new qualitative partnerships between various Program (Italy, Spain, France, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Estonia) and Partner countries (Tunisia, Ukraine) - develop in youth workers important professional and personal skills and competences, - create network of organizations that can continue fruitful cooperation after TC ends - to create Manual for Youth workers on how to use movement-based learning in their everyday activities
