Objectives

Since 2020 we have been facing new dynamic and changeable times. The pandemic shattered and disrupted everyday people’s lives. Many changes, uncertainties and difficulties appeared on all levels. The intensification of digital transformation has brought immense changes to our societies and lives in general. In these circumstances, our quality youth work is now needed more than ever in order to help and support young people who are facing all the effects and difficulties of the pandemic. Many youth workers look for ways of improving the quality of the youth activities we organise and the possibilities of how to turn the in-person activities into engaging and high-quality blended or online experiences for all the youngsters involved. These are the needs that the Learning Lab(oratory) project responded to. With the "Learning Lab(oratory) – quality non-formal education in the digital world" project, we increased the capacity of the partner organisations in high-quality, facilitated non-formal education. The overall aim of the project was to improve the quality of the non-formal and informal learning aspects of the youth educational activities of our 9 partner organisations, both in physical and online formats. More concretely, our objectives were: - to understand better what quality non-formal learning is, what its elements are and how to provide such learning experiences to all young people, - to learn innovative methods for enhancing the learning processes directed towards young people, - to equip participants with tools for supporting digital learning and online volunteering, - to find creative and engaging ways for turning regular educational activities into an online format, - to provide space for critical review and reflection on the usage of digital tools and to train agile and tailored approaches in blended learning, - to provide more inclusive and versatile learning opportunities for young people, including such with fewer opportunities, - to enhance the professional learning and growth of the youth workers and to give space for collaboration and networking on the international level, - to increase the capacity of the partner organisations in providing high-quality face-to-face and online non-formal learning activities. The project "Learning Lab(oratory) – quality non-formal education in the digital world" was created and implemented by Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat - One World Association (Poland) in consortium with Service Civil International Österreich (Austria), CVS Bulgaria Sdruzhenie (Bulgaria), Kansainvälinen vapaaehtoistyö ry (Finland), Service Civil International - Deutscher Zweig E.V.
