Objectives

As the name of the project suggests - thanks to Youth Work Balance, we wanted to invite people working with youth to think about how they can support not only their recipients, but also themselves, especially in times of pandemic burden and increasing burnout rate in Europe. 18 people from 5 different countries tried to rebuild their mental resources as part of the training and neutralize the effects of overloading with the pandemic, remote work and times that encourage you to act beyond your strength. We would like the participants - by exchanging practices in the field of self-care and taking part in workshop sessions devoted to taking care of mental health, methods of self-support or art therapy, to learn how they can support themselves on a daily basis in rebuilding their resources and taking care of balance between work and life. It was also important that the working conditions for mobility in Poland were conducive to mindfulness and a creative atmosphere, where there was no room for overwork. The sessions were not burdensome and one of the goals of the project was also to provide space for conscious relaxation and cutting off from stimuli. Thanks to this, it was possible to improve the well-being of participants and equip them with methods that they can use on a daily basis and share with other people in the industry in the field of taking care of their own comfort and awareness of the boundaries between work and everyday life. An important goal of the project was to focus the participants on themselves and to show how important it is to take care of yourself first - and only then think about how to support others in need. In addition, one of the goals was to visit organizations in Lublin that have a similar profile of activity to organizations created by people participating in the training and to find out how their employees take care of their own comfort at work and what healthy practices they know about cooperation with young people. Everyone was also supposed to share the effects of the project with their peers and to disseminate the effect of the project, which was a toolbox containing tools and methods of self-support
