Through the project, we aimed to achieve several important goals. First and foremost, we wanted to create a space that enables politically neutral debate on the most significant topics from the perspective of young people in the third decade of the 21st century. This was particularly important due to the pressing challenges we observed regarding the engagement of youth in public life. Additionally, our objective was to overcome negative trends that we identified, such as the decline of substantive, politically neutral debates among young activists. We noticed that valuable discussions were being replaced by slogans, empty catchphrases, and even disinformation, which led to the radicalization of youth and their isolation within information bubbles. As part of the project, we developed a comprehensive program plan consisting of a series of regional workshop-debate meetings, a nationwide congress, and virtual activities. We also aimed to enhance the skills of young people that are often overlooked in formal education processes, including digital literacy, public speaking, research and hypothesis verification, as well as teamwork and leadership. The detailed objectives of the project encompassed gaining insights into the perspectives of young people and experts on key issues in education, the economy, and social policy. We aimed to facilitate connections between youth communities, organizations operating in different parts of Poland, as well as professionals and decision-makers. Furthermore, we sought to strengthen the quality of public debate and amplify the voices of young people while developing participants' competencies in the aforementioned areas. The project has already taken place and has brought us great satisfaction. We are confident that we have achieved our goals, primarily by creating a space for valuable, substantive debate conducted according to established standards. It is our intention that our organizations, the Ważne Sprawy Foundation and the Youth Association of Poland, continue their efforts to elevate the quality of public debate and shape mechanisms for youth policy-making. Therefore, we plan for future editions of this program to be held annually, in order to further engage young people in shaping a better future.
