Objectives

We wanted to create a new model of working with people aged 60+ based on creativity and participation in culture, also using the possibilities offered by digital tools. We also wanted to create practical tools in the form of hybrid workshop scenarios, the implementation of which will also enable online participants to actively participate in cultural and artistic activities. We also wanted to develop a method that would refer to activities in creativity and creativity, and at the same time would allow for increasing the physical activity of people aged 60+, thereby eliminating or reducing the effects of restrictions on physical activity. Our goal was not only to develop these tools and models for our own needs, but also to share them with other organizations and institutions that work with this age group. We also wanted to introduce the Erasmus program to the 60+ group as an interesting and attractive tool for adult education, and to gain experience as an organization in conducting international activities for people aged 60+.

Background

The year 2020, due to the Sars-Cov2 pandemic, presented new challenges to organizations working with people aged 60+. Due to the care for health and reducing the probability of infection, people over 60 were encouraged to limit leaving the house, and thus reduce the activity that is natural for this age group, i.e. participation in various types of activating activities. It soon turned out that this has negative effects in the form of deterioration of physical condition due to restrictions on physical activity, and this is associated with the intensification of physical ailments, e.g. joint pain, reluctance to move, excessive weight gain, worsening of diabetes, etc. It also turned out that the effects of reduced activity are also visible in the mental and mental spheres, e.g. lack of words when speaking, acceleration of the development of dementia, increase in the frequency of feeling lonely. The world of younger people has moved to digital activities, and for older people it was quite difficult due to the fact that they lacked the skills to use digital tools. Educators and animators of people aged 60+ faced a lack of educational tools that would help reduce the effects of the pandemic in the 60+ age group.
