Our main goals were: - To familiarize people in Poland and Spain from different backgrounds with money management skills and to give them basic financial knowledge through non-formal education. - To implement local activities to overcome financial exclusion and develop responsibility in making financial decisions. As a result, adults at risk of exclusion have better skills in managing their household budgets and using financial services. - To increase awareness among adult learners of the benefits and opportunities of having a bank account and actively using modern payment instruments. Financial education influences conscious decision making in financial matters. Achieving the goals we set means improving skills in managing personal finances, both on a daily basis and during important life events, as well as the ability to cope with more difficult periods in life. The goal was not only to create scenarios for classes, but also to create a methodological handbook for working with people at risk of exclusion.
Understanding finances is of great importance to ensure the stable development of people of all ages and society in general. Financial knowledge is now considered an essential skill, especially important for consumers in today's complex financial world. One of the best ways to gain relevant financial knowledge that results in correct behavior is through financial education. It is important that the education is adapted to the age of the learner, as the needs of different age groups vary. Culture and social circumstances are also important, as they can vary depending on where a person lives. In order to improve the situation in which people at risk of social exclusion may find themselves, we decided to create an initiative focused on improving the personal finance knowledge of adults at risk of exclusion.
