Our expectations by implementing the project were to reduce the occurrence of cyberbullying among students, to empower parents in controlling their children's digital activity, to point out to students the dangers of digital violence, to build an online platform where students can report cyberbullying incidents, to develop students' communication skills and intercultural experience, to improve students critical thinking skills and creativity, to increase the European dimension of partner schools through the international cooperation, to raise the awareness of students, parents and teachers about the bad impact that cyberbullying may have, to build a safe and secure school environment for the students and to exchange the ideas about dealing with cyberbullying cases. The project's theme itself is very beneficial for students, parents, and teachers in terms of acquiring knowledge and lasting skills in dealing with cyberbullying. It helps increase awareness of the causes and effects of cyberbullying, which is not only a local problem but also a global one occurring daily among students.
We applied for the implementation of this project because only effective partnership cooperation could contribute to the development of a long-term program addressing the issue of cyberbullying, which is widespread among students. The impact of actions within the partnership involves not only students but also parents and teachers, raising awareness about the dangers associated with cyberbullying. The current problem arising from children's widespread use of virtual technologies and social media is Internet harassment. It is not easy to identify as it is usually disguised by those who use it under the pretext or impersonation of others. Research has shown that cyberbullying can have serious negative consequences on psychological and cognitive levels: it can lead to low self-esteem, low self-confidence, even suicides, diminished motivation to learn, and deteriorating academic performance. The main needs include teaching students responsible Internet and social media use, mobilizing parents to supervise their children's online activities, and educating them to recognize signs of cyberbullying behavior.
