Objectives

We believe that our students have achieved some gains during the project process. These achievements are: to enhance active participation and citizenship amongst group of participants to raise students’ environmental awareness in regard to current global issues to foster transferability of waste management and pedagogical practices to generate positive changes to implement personalized waste management schemes in partner schools to enhance intercultural awareness, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity to engage participants in activities that relate to creativity, critical thinking and team work skills

Background

With the help of the ERASMUS project "Act locally, think globally!" we wanted to bring to the students' attention the problem of waste management throughout Europe and to suggest solutions for reducing or eliminating the negative effects, through a joint conscious attempt to guide them towards adopting a more responsible behavior towards the environment, in the long term. It is not enough for students to have high academic success in national exams; It is also important for school to ensure that their behaviors are sensitive to people and their environment and that they take on their responsibilities. The method of making educational processes, in which we care about personality development as well as academic development, fun, effective and permanent, is projects that we can work in cooperation. With the belief that the experiences that our students will gain by taking part in an international project will serve this purpose, we have participated in the Erasmus+ Project. Based on our students' curiosity about problem solving and learning; It is necessary for schools to develop a common awareness about "Reducing Waste", which is the common problem of our world, which is constantly increasing.
