Objectives

The main aim of the BEE project was to fight discrimination by working with young people, as they are one of the most vulnerable targets for racist and discriminatory propaganda and messages against ethnic minorities. Violence can be prevented if diversity and empathy are spread among young generations before they fall into extremism. Therefore, the project aimed to oppose discrimination by raising awareness among young people and educating them to support respectful and inclusive behavior. Mixed Mobilities will focus in particular on two main goals: implementing and testing the effectiveness of the methodology; and strengthening the group of participants, making them feel united in a solid team. Participants then spread information about the project in their social circles. We wanted participants to react when they noticed discriminatory behavior around them.

Background

a. As a foundation dealing with the issue of refugees, we believe that everyone should have access to equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities. We see cultural diversity as an opportunity for social and economic development in Europe and as a fighting tool discrimination. However, the rise of intolerance, stereotypes and discrimination against ethnic minorities continues to grow and poses a serious threat and challenge to organizations like ours. We wanted to create a project that would help in the fight for ethnic equality through education awareness of discrimination among local and international youth. Thanks to the use of non-formal education, partners promoted respectful and inclusive behavior. b. The impact of the project was on the development of society towards ethnic equality, especially among youth. Participants felt united by the experience and are likely to maintain relationships with some or all of the team members, which means will be created as a supportive and motivating social network. All project partners have developed their methodologies to improve the way they promote respectful and inclusive behavior among young people. They gained greater knowledge of other European good practices.
