Modern societies are undergoing a rapid digital transformation. We are challenged to cope and succeed in the emerging digital age. This project responds to the needs for digital qualifications and for innovative learning and teaching practices in the higher education sector. There has been a thorough analysis of the needs of the project's target groups - namely art educators, art students and art institutions - in terms of how they can thrive in a digital environment. Art educators need to be able to keep up with today's digital transformation, which affects all sectors of the economy, including the creative and artistic professions. Their personal digital competencies must be enhanced and their skills in creating innovative digital curricula must be developed. Art students need to be introduced to the concept of digital art and the opportunities and markets this field can offer them in the future. Students represent the next generation of workers and must be able to respond to the changes that digitalisation brings. Higher education institutions in the arts must be able to offer innovative, trans-disciplinary and contemporary programmes to their students.
