We wanted to improve the teachers capacity to deliver effective blockchain education to their management and business students. Educators need to update their own knowledge and skills, recognize the non-technical aspects and have appropriate tools to introduce blockchain teaching in their daily work. This need was met through R1, Audit and Framework and bolstered by R2, Inverted Learning OERS. By ensuring that lecturers have a clear understanding of the implications and applications of blockchain, a framework for its pedagogic application and the confidence to apply this, we wanted to increase the level of proficiency within their students, while also increasing the employability of HEI educators. We also focused on business and management students. We wanted to provide them with targeted educational materials so that they could apply the knowledge about blockchain successfully, in an economically beneficial manner. The project met their needs by providing high quality, accessible and engaging materials through, R2 OERS & R3 Online Course which could help graduates to successfully enter into the ever changing, blockchain enabled working world. The project also met partners needs of an access to materials on blockchain.
In the contemporary world, blockchain technology has transcended its origins in computer science and emerged as a transformative force with far-reaching implications across diverse industries. The need for HEIs to implement innovative Blockchain educational resources within their curriculums is clear. In order to reduce a skills mismatch HEIs wanted to respond to current, and prepare for future, business and economic needs. Firstly, blockchain's interdisciplinary relevance, spanning finance, healthcare, arts and more, prepares students for cross-functional roles. Understanding its economic impact is crucial in a rapidly changing job market, ensuring students are future-ready and able to explore diverse career paths. Blockchain fosters innovation, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving skills applicable across professions. Technological literacy is vital globally, and blockchain training equips students for active participation in discussions related to digital technologies. Moreover, it instills ethical considerations, preparing students for responsible decision-making. Lastly, training in blockchain serves as preparation for future technologies, cultivating a mindset of continuous learning in our dynamic world.
