Objectives

By implementing the EnviroVET project, partners wanted to contribute to the fight against climate change and to promote the benefits of an environmentally sustainable approach to vocational education and training. Moreover, by supporting the development of a set of innovative tools, partners wanted to contribute to the adaptation of Vocational Education and Training sector to labour market needs.

Background

The partnership applied for this project because organisations that compose the partnership work in the VET area and are concerned with the climate change and reaching the goal set by the European Commission of achieving the climate neutrality by the year 2050. Partners were aware that the need of transition to a greener production and consumption could be fulfilled only if the real change is made. This change can be achieved through a common effort at all levels of the economy and industry. This effort can be done if there is an appropriate set of new skills in the workplace, both soft and technical. By applying for the EnviroVET project partners wanted to contribute and support the acquisition of the new, green skills by providing relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to VET institutions, VET professionals and VET learners in order to develop a resource-efficient and sustainable society.
