Objectives

The main goal of the project was to create an educational tool that could bring about a lasting change in the attitudes of young people. This applies not only to the group participating in international mobilities but primarily to the participants of the workshops we have organized and will continue to organize at stadiums. According to the plans, the prepared training and materials are highly attractive to young people, not necessarily interested in sports or history in general. However, by combining active workshops with inspiring locations, namely football stadiums, we manage to convince young people that sports represent a multicultural tradition and that there is and has always been a place for everyone in sports clubs, regardless of their background, beliefs, or financial situation.

Background

The project "Our Colorful Cities" was conceived by Polish partners. The concept was developed during one of the previous projects, namely the Fussballiada.PL football tournament for national minorities. The partners agreed on the very limited knowledge of school youth regarding topics related to the history of sports and the traditions of existing sports clubs. Given the emergence of racist and xenophobic slogans in fan environments, we decided to prepare an educational project that heavily engages young people, combining historical education, promotion of tolerance, and football. An opportunity arose to incorporate the theme into the ongoing "Lessons at the Stadium" project and develop educational modules on the traditions of Polish sports clubs. Due to strong connections, especially with the CUKUNFT association in Wrocław, we decided to locate the project there.
