Objectives

The school intends to create a learning community where the student constructs their own knowledge, respecting their pace, with the teacher acting as a facilitator, providing a differentiated and diversified pedagogical intervention plan that addresses the specific learning difficulties of each student. Therefore, by using new digital technologies and considering the students' expectations, interests, and experiences, the goal is to create motivation to seek new knowledge, activate the students' willingness by presenting them with challenges and problems, thus promoting formal and informal learning in different contexts. Hence the importance of knowing new realities and sharing new experiences and knowledge, contributing to the more solid formation of teachers, so that they can ensure their guidance and regulation role in the search for learning because teaching is creating the best conditions for the student to construct their knowledge in the global world that is intended "for and by all." We aim for the school to assert itself in its European space, contributing to achieving the goals of 21st-century education and achieving the organizational change of the school.

Background

The heterogeneity of the student population poses new challenges to the school, namely finding ways to respond to the needs of everyone, accepting differences and the individual, promoting the quality of the educational path of all and ensuring learning that leads to the necessary skills for the students. Integrated into a community with a strong footwear industry and where employability is possible with low schooling, the school struggles with the challenge of proving its relevance in the future of those who attend it. The increase of students with learning support and inclusion measures is a reality in the group to which it is urgent to respond. Furthermore, there is still some digital illiteracy among teaching and student staff. In addition, the school seeks to modify pedagogical methodologies in order to change a traditional classroom paradigm to active methodologies, whose focus is on the student, who must acquire the skills foreseen in PASEO with learning activities framed in their motivations, characteristics, and interests, creating an inclusive school. We prioritize access to new pedagogical practices implemented in the European space and new cultures, deepening the European integration.
