Although the AEBA has been a pioneer, at national level, in the implementation of different pilot projects in recent years and pedagogical innovation has become a reality, the strategic shift from a teacher-centered paradigm to a student-centered learning process was taking a lot of time, more time and effort than initially anticipated. Thus, in the selection of existing courses in Europe for training our teachers, given the positive and consistent results of the educational systems, it was intended that they develop specific skills in the priority areas for the Grouping: to implement new strategies and tools and the consolidate through the validation conveyed by the knowledge and experiences acquired in the mobilities; reflect and share good practices, promoting the use of new and innovative technologies and pedagogical methods; promote knowledge of the common European heritage and the diversity of different educational contexts and experiences; take advantage of mobility to support the development of professional networks; and disseminate learning with peers and the school community to accelerate the improvement of the educational service provided to students.
The Boa Água School Group (AEBA) works daily to fulfill its mission: the creation of an inclusive school that responds to the needs of all its actors. The AEBA is made up of 4 school units and provides general education to students from Pre-School Education to 3rd CEB. It comprises two learning support units for students covered by Special Education. We are a reference for multiple disabilities, with 15% of the total benefiting from economic aid and 7.5% of students coming from 12 different nationalities. Although we are a reference school both for the pedagogical practices we use (pedagogical innovation school since 2017) and for the internal projects in which we participate, there were deficiencies in certain areas and it became imperative to resort to the knowledge and experiences existing in the European space to the training of our teachers, as there are educational systems and methodologies implemented with very positive and consistent results that would allow accelerating the improvement of the educational service provided to AEBA students. It was in this context that the present Project emerged, which has now ended and which involved 24 teachers from all departms.
