The “Alfa Kids – path to new jump” project was born out of a desire to change teaching practices as an essential part of improving school results. It should be noted the intention to promote pedagogical practices that induce the development of higher level skills, allowing the management of the curriculum in a flexible and contextualized way, recognizing that the effective exercise of autonomy in education is only fully guaranteed if the object of that autonomy is the curriculum. It aims to contribute to the academic success of students, as well as to the significant improvement of learning through the use of innovative and diversified strategies. It counts as relevant topics innovative educational methods, outdoor teaching, sustainability, environment. This project aims to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning. Broaden the horizons of the school, promote children's direct contact with natural environments, facilitate outdoor, experiential, playful learning with nature, value and stimulate the free creativity of teachers and students, the exchange of knowledge, looks and affections , were the motto for the creation of this project. The idea is to promote awareness and sensitivity of our students in relation to the environment.
Colégio Alfacoop - Externato Infante D. Henrique is a private educational establishment, authorized by Permit No. 2204, issued on 13/04/1976, owned by Alfacoop-Cooperativa de Ensino, CRL based in the parish of Ruílhe, municipality of Braga from which is approximately 8 km away. Its origin dates back to the 1968/69 school year, with the entry into operation of a Telescola Reception Post, the only educational alternative for children and young people from bordering, peripheral, rural and isolated parishes in the municipalities of Barcelos, Braga and Vila Nova de Famalicão. To assess municipal and regional needs, meetings are periodically held with partner entities and recent studies carried out in this area are analysed. It assumes itself as a school that, in defense of the constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom to learn and teach, intends to assume itself as an educational reference of excellence, in order to guarantee quality education and training for young people. It is proposed to make young people active agents of society with high technical and scientific competence, intervening at their levels and places of action and endowed with good moral, social and civic training.
