Objectives

By implementing this project, the Valongo do Vouga School Cluster (AEVV), with all its involvement in the preparation, mobility experience and responsibility in the dissemination of results, wishes students to develop: essential skills as reading, writing, digital and social, transversal to Europeans citizenship values and self-knowledge so that, in the short term, they improve the quality of their educational success and interest in school. In the long term, these skills will contribute to becoming critical, proactive and tolerant citizens, capable of responding and contributing profitably to a humanist, fair, solidary and complex society and increase their life expectancy. As for the teachers involved, their skills will be reinforced in terms of collaborative work and diversification of methodologies. It is also intended to integrate into their daily practices the knowledge acquired through the experience and contact with other European educational realities and training courses. At the same time, this is the beginning of an European path in which the AEVV asserts itself as an enterprising organization, seeking strategies to respond to the needs and expectations of its educational community.

Background

Valongo do Vouga School Cluster (AEVV) is located in a peripheral and eminently rural area of the city of Águeda with currently 1000 students. It is integrated in the Educational Territories of Priority Intervention, therefore, it is an organization open to new experiences, dynamic, capable, attentive to the challenges of today's society. This is one of the locality's social drivers and social leverage for their students, that complements the school’s educational mission. With this in mind, the “Roteiro Cool de Aprendizagem” Project, our first Erasmus+ adventure. It was aimed at students from 12 to 16 years old, the age group in which these challenges are most urgent and was a decisive contribution to increase the quality of success of the engaged students. The aim was to promote interest in school and learning, substantiated by promoting reading, writing and reading skills, the use of digital tools, English language communication, as well as knowledge of European values. This project also responds to students' requests to "broaden their horizons" based on opportunities and contacts within the scope of curricular and extracurricular activities provided by AEVV on "being European" issues.
