With this project we intend to demonstrate that the family economic needs are not an impediment to the progression of these students, both at the level of their cultural baggage/contact and immersion in a new culture, as well as their ability to travel to other countries and also to see at first hand that they can achieve better life opportunities; the contact with companies in other countries allows them not only to apply, but also to improve the skills and knowledge acquired, helping them with innovation, productivity and competitiveness. Transmitting these experiences to other young people encourages them to seek higher quality in their work in order to be selected for this programme or another similar one; the multicultural coexistence that they will enjoy will make them more tolerant of differences, transmitting these values to those who follow them and creating a healthier coexistence between peers; teachers can add new experiences and innovation to their teaching, materialising the real effect of these experiences, through the sharing of participants and visits as accompanying persons in the mobility programmes; promoting the taste for studying other languages.
We know that these good results will allow our students to have better opportunities to enter higher education and to find their first job. Our focus is in fact to form individuals who respect the fundamental principles of a society, who value the respect for human dignity, for the exercise of citizenship, for solidarity with others, individuals with multiple literacies that allow them to analyze and critically question reality. We work with young people who mostly come from dysfunctional families and are economically deprived. It is fair to say that motivating most of these young people for teaching/learning is a Herculean task that requires their teachers to constantly mobilise new experiences and teaching methods, mostly based on collaborationism. The school's role should be based on preparing students for a Europe where collaboration/communication/creativity/critical thinking/flexibility/leadership and lifelong learning are necessary skills.
