With this project we aimed to extend the internationalisation of AEMAS to VET sector, allowing to increase the job placement rate of trainees after completing their VET course; increase the pedagogical and technical skills of the team of trainers teaching in vocational courses and increase the number of quality partnerships with companies for on-the-job training.
Over the several years of implementation of vocational courses, and as a result of the EQAVET accreditation process, the Agrupamento de Escolas Martinho Árias, Soure (AEMAS) found that there were some needs that needed to be overcome and the Erasmus+ programme could help. Among the set of needs we highlight the weak network of partnerships with companies; the lack of structured and crystallised procedures in the monitoring of vocational courses; an internal and external communication strategy of the AES; the professional development of the teaching staff assigned to vocational courses; the placement rate of trainees after the completion of their course is low; the dropout rate of vocational courses is high and there is a low completion rate of vocational courses.
