Objectives

The main objectives of this project are: - Improve school results and combat dropouts among secondary school students; - Develop technical, linguistic and personal skills and competencies that facilitate the employability of students from the Agrupamento de Escolas da Cidadela; - Better definition and establishment of the identity of the school itself; - Improve the curriculum of professional courses, increasing the quality of teaching and consequently learning; - Combat social exclusion, promoting the participation of the most disadvantaged young people, and the active involvement of families in school life.

Background

The main school, Escola Básica e Secundária da Cidadela, is located in the central urban area of Cascais and provides a diversified training offer that includes Sciences and Technologies, Languages and Humanities, Socioeconomic Sciences. In this project, we highlight professional courses as part of the educational offer: Multimedia Technician, Animation Technician in Tourism and Tourism Operations Technician. This project aims to respond to the need for constant training and improvement of the Agrupamento's internal and external image. We believe that it will strongly motivate the school community to participate in these and other learning opportunities, thus acquiring more and better personal and professional skills that are, respectively, applied in their studies and functions within the Agrupamento's. This project was a fundamental opportunity, not only for each participant involved, but also for our educational institution, to learn about a foreign environment, different methods and/or approaches, to compare and measure the quality of our school internationally and also gain recognition. This project strengthened the Group's continuous internationalization process.
