Within the scope of this project, the priorities outlined were: to stimulate projects that allow the development of skills centered on students (in particular training in a work context and the development of VETl skills in a different social, cultural and economic environment) capable of promoting inclusion and diversity as well as combining the practical and theoretical components and increasing the level of motivation – P1; promote projects that allow the development of competences centered on teachers - innovation in pedagogical practices, teaching methodologies and strategies, specific training in hard and soft skills – P2; expand the network of strategic partnerships for the consolidation and expansion of the AEFH internationalization process –P3. Associated with these challenges, the following objectives were defined: adjust methodologies for the digital age (O1); improve interventional action inside and outside the AEFH (O2); highlight the AEFH as an inclusive school (O3); contribute to enhancing the European dimension of education (O4); enrich teachers' skills (O5); prepare students for the global job market (O6).
The Francisco de Holanda School Group (AEFH) includes several VET courses in its educational offer and received the EQAVET Label of Conformity, for 3 years, in 2020. It has a vast network of partnerships and protocols with the most representative companies in the business industry and city institutions. The diversity of offers and the contribution to VET training in the municipality of Guimarães and neighboring areas, combined with the significant number of students and the excellence of the projects/activities, place this institution as a reference in the region. This project emerged as a response to the challenge of improving and, at the same time, achieving and reconciling the European goals for Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the fundamental principles of Key Action 01. In this sense, in a highly dynamic world of work, it is important to adapt types of training and promote close cooperation between teachers, students and companies. VET activities and the necessary skills are changing, so strategies and instruments should not be national, but European or international. For this, VET teachers and students need to be challenged to learn and acquire new skills, being able to innovate.
