Objectives

The Erasmuscentro Consortium was established in 2011/12 and currently comprises 8 polytechnics (Coimbra, Guarda, Viseu, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Tomar, Portalegre, and Leiria). The implementation of this project aimed to make lifelong learning and mobility a reality; improve the quality and effectiveness of education and training; promote equality, social cohesion, and active citizenship; and encourage creativity and innovation, including entrepreneurial spirit. Thus, it was a common purpose of the consortium's polytechnics to increase student exchange, both in study and internship aspects, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff; achieve satisfaction among students and staff, notably by enhancing the opportunity for personal and curriculum/professional enrichment gained through a mobility experience; create networks that serve the purpose of bringing people closer together and sharing knowledge, as well as social and cultural experiences, contributing to the construction of European citizenship; raise the visibility of the affiliated Polytechnics within the European Higher Education network; establish new agreements and deepen cooperation with new applications for KA2 projects.
