Objectives

The overarching aim of the project was to facilitate collaboration among a select group of organizations, fostering an exploration and exchange of best practices. The project sought to spark creativity and envision innovative pedagogical approaches, with the potential outcome of developing a future collective proposal for submission to the EU, specifically focusing on play, creativity and civic participation within adult education. Specific objectives included exploration and experimentation of each others’ various practices, engagement of other stakeholders for the expansion of the consortium, critical reflection on pedagogical approaches, and a nuanced examination of the interplay between the body and learning capacities in the digital educational landscape. Beyond this, the project aimed to establish a cohesive partnership, providing opportunities for personal and professional acquaintanceship. The intention was to explore collaborative methods through the activities implemented to facilitate ongoing exchange and cooperation throughout the project's duration. Moreover, the project sought to encourage creativity and experimentation in educational existing methods in the framework of the partnership.

Background

The Brincando project was designed in the midst of the pandemic by a consortium of 4 different organizations - each with about 15 years of experience in the cultural or educational sector - that decided to join and explore their practices together. In a context that was apparently pointing to a full digitalization of all learning processes, we wanted to share our know-how and reflect together, in order to imagine which new pedagogical approaches could arise from our different realities and experiences in adult education to adapt them to an uncertain future scenario. In the mid-term-eventually through the creation of a bigger transnational project and with the result of this pilot project - we expected to develop hybrid forms of educational interaction, mixing online practices with experiential and sensitive ones on Play, Creativity and Civic Participation in Education. Together we recognized the potential threat to the educational patterns we had been implementing so far as we observed a disconnection from real-life experiences among learners. The project addressed these challenges by exploring how the relationship between "making"- that implies a connection with the body - and creativity fosters emotional and social development.
