With the project "Let's make social networks safe again!", it was intended that students would become more open and tolerant, learn to cooperate, take responsibility, and develop self-esteem through group work and international exchanges. The project's goals of promoting equity, social cohesion and active citizenship were successfully achieved. The participants improved their English communication skills and acquired knowledge of the partners' languages. They created various materials and products, such as posters, t-shirts, informative brochures, bookmarks and videos about cyberbullying. The activities were designed with the aim of promoting the safe and responsible use of social media, educating individuals about the potential risks involved, fostering the development of critical skills, providing support, and integrating safety education into schools. The project had a positive impact on participating teachers, students, parents and institutions, promoting innovation, collaboration and cultural understanding.
The project brought together 3 cross-sector institutions from 3 culturally different countries (Portugal, Spain and Turkey). The students learned about different cultures, worldviews, behaviors, becoming more and more open to the world and tolerant towards others. They realized that they do not live alone in the world and that there are other people around them who are often waiting for their help. They worked in groups in their schools, but also in student group exchanges in Turkey, Portugal and Spain. They learned to cooperate, work together and learned to be responsible, punctual and have self-esteem. The project objectives in all partner schools were achieved through the tasks implemented according to the timetable and action plan. In addition, participants improved their English communication skills by improving their vocabulary during classes, extra project lessons, student exchanges, working in international groups, and preparing materials used to create products, which were regularly published on the eTwinning platform.
