Objectives

The MATH-DIGGER platform revolutionizes math education by integrating digital escape rooms with interactive learning. It enables large-scale EdTech research while fostering psychological studies through user-generated data. The platform enhances student engagement, making math more accessible and enjoyable. Designed to prepare students for the Fifth Industrial Revolution, MATH-DIGGER develops critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, aligning with employer demands. It also promotes female participation in STEM, addressing gender gaps through engaging gamification techniques. For teachers, MATH-DIGGER provides digital training and pedagogical resources, encouraging innovative teaching methods. Additionally, it fosters international collaborations through programs like Erasmus+, paving the way for global mobility. By embracing Agile education, MATH-DIGGER ensures continuous growth and transformation in learning, making math education future-ready.

Background

The MATH-DIGGER project empowers partners to enhance mathematics education through a free, interactive learning platform that integrates game-based learning and digital escape rooms. Designed to boost engagement and motivation, it immerses students in real-world problem-solving within a virtual reality environment at MaxWhere, stimulating 3D spatial awareness and enhancing the learning experience. With Gen Z students growing up in a digital world, education must adapt to their learning preferences. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a key role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications, fostering both technical and soft skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Studies highlight math struggles due to its abstract nature. Gamification, escape rooms, and innovative assessment tools enhance student engagement and academic success. MATH-DIGGER transforms learning, making mathematics more accessible, immersive, and relevant.
