Objectives

O1: Training of at least 10 people from the association's team of professionals and volunteers in the spirit of European values, for working with seniors. The staff and volunteers of the association wanted to get involved in the organization of activities for seniors, discovering through the non-formal workshops held that they have affinities and inclination for working with grandparents. However, not having the necessary expertise, their good intentions proved insufficient until the implementation of the project because: - they did not have enough knowledge and skills to work with grandparents; - they did not know how to adapt the contents to the learning pace of the seniors. O2: Capitalizing on the acquired skills and knowledge to increase the organization's performance and involvement in the community by increasing by at least 750% the number of seniors involved in the activities. Through our project, we have become the most important pole of social integration of people of the third age ever developed in Braila County because we set out to: 1. minimum 150 meetings for an average number of 10 seniors / meeting. In total, 1,500 beneficiaries. 2. an impact event at the city level - SENIOR WEEK - with daily activities in public

Background

The BrailART association from Braila is an organization founded with the aim of developing the local non-governmental cultural and educational sector for disadvantaged adults. Since our foundation, we have focused on non-formal activities with adults, especially with seniors and people at risk of social exclusion (unemployed, people below the poverty line, ethnic minorities). The main activities carried out: - foreign language learning programs for seniors, especially English and French, so that grandparents can communicate more easily with grandchildren born in other countries, who do not know the Romanian language; - dance learning programs: Greek (there is a strong Greek community in Braila), retro, tango, Latin. - personal and financial development programs for seniors, the unemployed, people on the verge of poverty. - social inclusion programs for adults with physical or mental disabilities. In this sense, we go to hospitals to do artistic or handmade activities. We have 5 years of experience in this field, over 400 beneficiaries, 30 instructors (volunteers or staff). But our field of excellence remains that of activities for the over 60 age category.
