Objectives

Through the three project objectives (developing of teachers’ digital competences in English bilingual classes, including primary school classes, enhancing cross-curricular practices using English language in teaching other subjects and primary classes, and increasing the number of final year linguistic certificate papers) we aimed to increase: the percentage of teachers who use digital interactive methods, from 30% to 60%; the number of teachers involved in peer-learning activities from 4 to minimum 14, who would organize workshops for improving digital skills in teaching English at school, local and regional levels; the percentage of teachers who use English in teaching from 7% to 25%; the number of optional classes at primary level from 0 to 4; the international cooperation from 3 to 5 eTwinning projects and 2 Erasmus+ applications; the number of final year linguistic certificate papers from 4 to 30.

Background

This project has been written starting from a series of needs identified within our organisation: the lack of digital interactive teaching methods in our intensive/bilingual classes of English and other subjects, the reduced number of final year linguistic certificate papers, the insufficient involvement of teachers in educational projects, the range of optional courses at the primary and secondary levels not corresponding to the intensive/bilingual profile of the school. As part of the project implementation, the school board has approved the project team, consisting of a project manager, a financial administrator, an activity coordinator, a dissemination coordinator and two evaluation and monitoring coordinators. The school headmaster has facilitated the opening of a bank account prior to signing the financial contract with the National Agency. The accounting department has signed in to register all the payments done during the project implementation. The secretariate department has elaborated the employment contracts for all members of the project team, in accordance with the decision no. 2282/17.02.2023. The dissemination of the project news on the school website has been facilitated by the IT service.
