Preventing early school leaving and failure in educationInclusion, promoting equality and non-discrimination

Objectives

First of all, we wanted to acquire innovative educational management methodological tools, implement them and make them common practices in our school. Teachers perfected in mobility (10 different specializations) to become promoters of change, of innovative teaching practices, to promote inter/self-improvement, so that in the next 2-3 years, 80% of the teaching staff acquire the competence that will enable them. to note the child's strengths/weaknesses and main interests and use them for internal motivation, to formulate appropriate expectations/objectives for any student, whatever his/her abilities. These skills of the teaching staff will obviously lead to the second and third objectives, reducing the school dropout rate by 2% and improving the inclusion process of students from vulnerable groups (on average 4-5 students/class), stopping exclusion/self-exclusion and other vulnerabilities arising from different socio-cultural, physical, ethnic, intellectual, etc Permanent feedback will be provided to the students/parents, monitoring the school progress and strengthening the relationship with the family in the common interest of overcoming learning barriers.

Background

Right from the idea stage, this project was shaped around the pressing needs that the entire teaching staff in our school felt, in relation to the approach of integrative strategies for such a diverse palette of students with special needs, or those from social categories disadvantaged. When we formed the working team for this project, we debated the specifics of the educational climate of our school, the social changes that were obviously translated into problems in the classroom, the lack of teachers specialized in special psychopedagogy, counselors, etc., all of which put the teachers in the position to substitute many roles, generating the need for additional human resources or adapted through a special know-how - skills in terms of technique, training and support. For many years it has been observed that some situations are beyond us, that the school dropout rate is increasing, as is the number of children from disadvantaged social categories, but the support for starting such a project came with the new manager and the tenure of some colleagues with an open mentality and experience in projects. With desire and confidence, I overcame certain logistical shortcomings and worked from home, in my spare time (3 members)
