Background

One of the missions assumed by “Berde Aron” Economic High School is to develop its students’ professional skills in order to ensure their labour market insertion, at European level. In this regard, increased emphasis is placed on practical experience that facilitates the transition between school and the labour market. However, the educational unit faces a number of problems that directly influence the insertion and professional success of its graduates: students’ low motivation for learning; low rate of promotion at the national baccalaureate exam; school dropout; the large number of disadvantaged students coming from families with economic and social difficulties or from rural areas; the gap between the contents of school learning and employers’ demands in terms of skills and the permanent changes in technology. “From trainee to a specialist through Erasmus+” was the first Erasmus project that the school has benefited from in order to counter these shortcomings.
