Objectives

The Youth Accreditation Project 2021 was the first-year project for the Asociatia Babilon Travel within the Accreditation Project 2021-2027. It was based on a close partnership and successful collaboration between organizations working with marginalized and non-marginalized youth. The Youth Accreditation Project 2021 aimed to make an impact on the lives of young people with disabilities and those with fewer opportunities in terms of their social inclusion, increase their visibility, and encourage a more independent life in which they could face the challenges of society. Additionally, the project also targeted typical, non-marginalized youth, allowing them to become ambassadors for the inclusion of these young people in the local and international community. The central theme around which the Youth Accreditation Project 2021 focused was social inclusion, realized in the specific context of the project through mobilities, non-formal learning, adaptive sports, and indoor and outdoor activities used as tools for inclusion by promoting independent, autonomous, and healthy lifestyles. The project had the following objectives: • Support youth workers in developing quality activities based on values such as equality, equity, inclusion, access to education and culture, democracy, and human rights, including individuals with disabilities in these activities, to increase their mobility, employability, and entrepreneurial initiative, thereby enabling them to live independently. • Improve the skills of youth workers in working with mixed groups of young people with and without disabilities and those with fewer opportunities. • Strengthen youth work in an inclusive context at the European level by developing an international cross-sectoral network of professionals, organizations, public and private institutions, and other stakeholders active in the field of youth and social inclusion capable of exchanging best practices in various related fields, such as non-formal, informal, and intercultural learning, interpersonal communication, digital skills, independent and healthy lifestyles in a green and sustainable environment, employability, and entrepreneurship. Throughout the project's implementation, during the three main mobilities, nine European organizations expanded their international network, shared and developed various social inclusion tools, and ensured their success. Our project's objectives were aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Program, the European Youth Strategy (2019-2027), and Romania's National Priorities for 2019.
