Objectives

THE FACTORS THAT FORM THE STARTING POINT OF OUR PROJECT Gender-based discrimination against women just because they are women or any attitude or behaviour that violates women's human rights simply defined as "Violence Against Women" by the United Nations. Violence against women is a multidimensional problem. Violence against women, one of the most common forms of violence, continues to exist as an important problem area in our country as well as in the world. In this sense, unfortunately, in most countries, the fact that women are more active and productive in economic and social life remains behind in the background. At the same time, it causes the society to fall behind in terms of social, cultural, economic and political aspects. The problem has social, cultural, familial and individual dimensions and the factors causing violence display a different structure. However, in general, women are left alone about the violence they experience and do not have enough knowledge, equipment and awareness to defend their rights. For this reason, “Women's Empowerment” is important in the fight against violence. Violence against women is one of the biggest problems in the world. Our project was designed and implemented to draw attention to this event and to raise awareness about violence against women. According to the UN's latest report, which is the result of statistical data, 137 women are killed by their spouses or a relative every day around the world. Despite the high education, income and human rights standards in Europe, the picture of violence against women is not good. According to a study conducted by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights, the rate of women exposed to violence after the age of 15 in Europe is around 33 percent, and one out of every 20 women is raped. Intending to reduce these cases, the whole world is working on this issue as a social awareness alarm. The goals reached with our project, which was designed and implemented with this starting point, are as follows: Violence against women and cases of violence have been provided to be heard, awareness has been raised about the need to examine the underlying causes, Raisining social awareness about femicide has been contributed, Awareness was raised on the prevention of femicide, Sensitivity has been raised to improve the place of women in society in general, It has been pointed out that femicide exists worldwide and that it is a situation that needs to be set it right globally, Raising awareness about the legal rights of women has been contributed, It is emphasized that women should be active in social and working life, Young people were encouraged to participate in voluntary activities, Young people were given the opportunity to improve their creative thinking and questioning skills, The development of empathy skills about discrimination and prejudice has been contributed, Erasmus Plus Program has been made visible and recognized, The concept of gender equality was conveyed to young people and they were made aware of the importance of this issue. Connection between Erasmus Plus' special and main action youth exchanges Our participants gained new skills within the scope of digital transformation thanks to the presentations made in our project and the activity of filling out the Youthpass Certificate. They had the opportunity to use these acquired skills in their education, social and working lives. Regarding our project topic, they both gained awareness and developed sensitivity about violence against women, and the struggle of women to exist in social life which is a global problem. Thanks to these studies, they created an intercultural dialogue with the participants from different cultures. Moreover, the aim of supporting the active participation of young people within the scope of Erasmus Plus Youth Exchange Program has been achieved by ensuring the active participation of young people in the studies. Besides, the combating of prejudice and discrimination, increasing voluntary activities, supporting the creativity and individual improvement of young people, combating gender discrimination and raising awareness among young people on global issues have been achieved.
