The current context exacerbates anxiety among the general population due to uncertainty and health risks. In recent years, mental health research has shown an increase in the level of anxiety experienced by adolescents and young adults. According to the National Institutes of Health, 1 in 3 teens suffers from an anxiety disorder (McCharty, 2019). In addition to the general trend of increasing anxiety in young people, more recent studies have also indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sharp increase in anxiety in adolescents (Kerr et al., 2021). The uncertainty we have faced, the unexpected changes, the problems related to health and social distancing are factors that have contributed to the creation of a very challenging period and accentuated our anxiety, of all of us. Mental health specialists point out that the pandemic intensified anxiety and recommends more attention to raising public awareness. Anxiety is often a precursor to depression, which can even lead to suicide. However, the pandemic is not the only cause: stigmatization of mental disorders, insufficient psychoeducation, non-assertive behaviors and insufficiently exercised skills in expressing needs and points of view are vulnerability factors equally present in triggering and exacerbating anxiety. The conclusions of researchers and specialists in the field of mental health are also confirmed by the feedback of young people from partner organizations in our proposal. Given that some of them met in other Erasmus initiatives and contexts and created new projects together (intercultural exchanges) there were, starting with March 2020, organizational or online socializing meetings in which fears were frequently shared. Therefore, this project came as a response to the increasing level of anxiety among young people and the overall goal of our initiative was to increase the emotional resilience of young people. Since most of these problems start between 12 and 25 years old (Patel et al., 2007) we decided to address this project to young people in this age group. We had the following objectives: a) Increasing the level of psychoeducation regarding anxiety of a number of 24 young people accompanied by 4 group leaders during a 7-day program conducted in Romania in June 2022. b)Supporting 24 young people, accompanied by 4 group leaders from 4 countries in increasing the level of assertive behaviors during the 7-day youth exchange organized in Romania in June 2022 c) Supporting 24 young people, accompanied by 4 group leaders from 4 countrie, in increasing their public speaking skills during the youth exchange organized in Romania in June 2022 d) Informing 24 young people, accompanied by 4 group leaders from 4 countries, about the education and training opportunities offered by Erasmus + during a 7-day program held in Romania in June 2022
