Objectives

The global issues related to the climate change and the sustainable development urgently need a change in our lifestyles but also a change in the way we act and think. In the 2020 report published by Eurostat on the EU's progress towards sustainable development goals, the Commissioner for the Economy said "In the face of the dramatic repercussions of the pandemic, we must not lose sight of global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity and growing social and economic inequalities. Implementing policies that achieve the goals of sustainable development is our roadmap to a better world, and Europe must be the vector for that. " In this context, the role of the accomplished project activities focused on shaping the future young person as a citizen able to form an objective point of view on the surrounding reality, to encourage participation, thus becoming aware of the future and the fact that the lives of the tomorrow generations depends largely on his options. Youth in Action for a Green Europe (Green Europe) united young peoples from two European countries (Bulgaria and Romania) in the fight for a green community in the context of the challenges and changes of today's society. Accomplished objectives: • Awareness of the importance of knowledge of climate change, sustainable development and application of measures to prevent and combat pollution, as well as environmental protection, for the development of eco-civic and social skills of 24 young people from 2 European communities, until 21.04.2022; • The formation of a civic conduct, corresponding to the environment in which we live, through the proactive involvement of young people in creating a sustainable society after a project conceived in mobility and applied in their own community, until 1.09.2022; • Improving the resilience after the pandemic and the social inclusion of 12 youth with fewer opportunities, by stimulating and supporting the participation in all the Youth in Action activities for a Green Europe (Green Europe), until 1.09.2022; The proposed project took place for a period of 10 months: 1.11.2021 - 1.09.2022, with a mobility of 10 days (11.04.2022- 22.04.2022) in Horezu, Romania. It brought together 30 participants (24 youth + 6 group leaders) of which 66% with fewer opportunities, with ages between 16-24, from 2 organizations and 2 countries Romania and Bulgaria. Through the proposed theme, the project is relevant to European and national priorities, promoting social inclusion by creating an inclusive environment throughout the project involving young people with fewer opportunities, as well as to the national priorities of the new Erasmus + program, sustainable development and the fight against climate change through the civic action of young people towards a Green Europe. "Youth in Action for a Green Europe" (Green Europe) was a project written by young people for young people. The aim of the project was to involve and empower youth in ecological actions to protect the environment to form a civic behavior to become active citizens and support them through informal activities to develop civic and social skills necessary in life and in their professional future. The project aimed to raise awareness among youth about the importance of knowledge about climate changes, sustainable development and the implementation of measures to prevent and combat pollution, as well as environmental protection for a sustainable planet and to stimulate the involvement in society and the active participation by creating a mobility project on this theme and appliying it in the community where they come from after participating in the mobility, a first step towards a Green Europe.
