Objectives

The mobility of youth workers ''Counter hate-It's possible'' contributed to meeting the needs expressed by the organizations from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria in combating hate speech and online disinformation among young people from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, and youth workers who took part in this training. The main objective of the CHIP project was equipping youth workers with knowledge and tools that will help them meet the problems faced by youth aged 15-30, (volunteers, students from partner organizations) hate and disinformation, and how to deal with these phenomena. The specific objectives of the training were the following: - Getting to know and exchange good practices; - Exchange of experiences between people from the countries participating in the project on hate, disinformation, and how to combat hate in Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria; - Making youth workers, and young people aware of how to recognize different types of disinformation and identify its popular techniques; - Make young people aware of what hate is, how it manifests itself, and what they can do if they witness hate - Promoting peace, and tolerance both online and in the real world - Training the youth workers (participants of the training course) in the creation of youth exchange applications in the Erasmus + program, thanks to which will pass on the acquired knowledge and skills to young people; -Facilitating intensive contact between youth workers. Via the CHIP project, we aimed to contribute to the promotion of the ideas of the Code of conduct on countering illegal hate speech online launched by the European Commission, together with four major IT companies ( Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and Youtube), as well as the principles of the EU policy Tackling online disinformation.
