FinancEDU+ project objectives were: O1. Develop an interactive tool for digital financial education, by using non-formal education methods and enhancing a strong cooperation and exchange of good practices between adult and youth education sectors. O2. Increase the expertise in the field of digital financial education for 24 experts from Bulgaria and Romania, by creating an interactive Personal Finance MasterClass (PFM) online module, available for youth workers and experts in adult education. O3. Create and implement two pilot teaching modules on digital financial education, available for both adults and youngsters, that will be further integrated and multiplied in the activities of partner organizations from Romania and Bulgaria, in order to increase the partners’ expertise in the field.
Increase adults' and youngsters’ key competences in financial education, by using digital tools for facilitating their personal budget. The workers within the Association of the Institute for Active Aging have interacted extensively with the target group of the project and their needs. One of the frequent points raised in discussions by adults was the desire to improve their digital skills as well as their ABC in microfinance. Following the observations, we carried out a research to assess the situation at the national and European level regarding these two themes. A study conducted by EUROBAR revealed that Romania ranks last in Europe in terms of financial education, with Bulgaria only two places ahead of Romania. The most realistic and plausible solution was to involve experts in adult education and youth workers in a trans-sectoral approach, given their significant interaction with people in this realm of personal development. The Personal Finance Masterclass created is tailored for the adult and youth workers, aiming to provide them with a new perspective on working methods with their target group, ensuring it is beneficial for them while also fostering a pleasant and practical learning experience.
