The aim of our project was to educate students from partner countries to apply ecological principles and behaviors according to the 3R paradigm (reducing, reusing and recycling), for a sustainable development, in accordance with European priorities supported by Erasmus+ projects. The objectives of the project were: O1. The acquisition of conscious civic attitudes about the importance of climate change and sustainable environmental development by 48 students by applying the 3R paradigm until August 31, 2023; O2. Development of scientific and technical knowledge and skills for quality ecological education in sustainable environmental protection to at least 80% of direct and indirect beneficiaries by the end of the project; O3. Personal development, self-esteem, critical thinking, creativity, as well as interdisciplinary cooperation by 48 students until August 31, 2023. O4. Learning "coexistence" by cultivating communication skills, as well as respect for the values and cultural characteristics of other partners, by 48 students and 12 teachers until August 31, 2023.
The project has been a response to the needs of the partner schools from Romania, Turkey and Latvia in the field of ecological education. Why this project? Because pollution and climate change affect us all, and they are consequences of our behavior! The earth needs us, and school is the place where students can learn, together with parents and teachers, to take better care of it. By carrying out this project, we created contexts for joint activities - students, teachers, parents, local community, and these contexts were not only means of learning, but also ways of forming a school culture based on trust, respect, collaboration, mutual support and communication. Before the development of this project, we noticed that students and parents are not paying enough attention to environmental issues. Then we ran the eTwinning project "Save Environment with 3R's" and we saw that their level of awareness of climate change is quite low. Thus we realized that we have to act as quickly as possible and at a higher level. Participation in an Erasmus project was a common need for all schools involved. From 4 partner schools, 3 were no longer involved in Erasmus projects.
