We followed some valuable ideas: - Promote human rights, tolerance values, equal opportunities, democracy, active citizenship and solidarity in our school - Increase international understanding and cooperation - Promote the principles of the European Union and European citizenship among our students,no matter their social and family background - Promote European values and the strength of European identity - Promote culture and traditions - Create a meaningful international context for peer learning - Promote a culture of equality, respect and tolerance among the students who are prone to bullying, discrimination and violence - Enable teachers to address violence, bullying and discrimination at the institutional level - Develop a long-term common violence prevention strategy - Facilitate equal chances in inclusion of disadvantaged students - Use the English language with ease and self-confidence
The first reasons why we decided to apply were that we had never took part in Erasmus+ projects and to integrate our school in the European basis of the Erasmus+ community where we should discover other communities to collaborate and communicate with. After we decided to take this step, we had an analysis of the contemporary issues that our school faces very often and agreed on the big theme of preventing and fighting against violence and bullying in schools. Our main targets became tp enable our students distinguish and recognize discrimination in their daily lives and to reveal the causes that result in exclusionary thoughts and actions. Participants belonging to different countries and cultures approach these issues from different perspectives. They would go out of their daily lives and familiar school settings either as a guest or host. Our teams would work on a common subject and overcome linguistic barriers through English. In this unique learning environment that we wanted to provide thanks to this Erasmus + project, students learned the nature of prejudices, the obvious nature of privileges, the consequences of unfair treatment and how to question hate speech. We also thought of offering a solid theoretical base and ideas.
