Objectives

We implemented the TD&AD Project in order to raise awareness, educate and motivate people to adopt more environmentally friendly practices within families within households. To achieve this goal, we created the TD&AD kit as an intergenerational learning tool to put parents and children together. In order for these results to have as much impact as possible, we disseminated them and transferred them to other organizations. The 4 objectives underlying the achievement of the project goal are: OB1." Improving competences and training methods in the field of environmental protection for 15 trainers through 2 transnational learning activities and exchange of good practices to create the learning tool for adults TD&AD" OB2: "Competence development and skills training for a more environmentally friendly lifestyle for 50 families by using TD&AD during 2 non-formal learning activities" OB3: "Raising awareness and motivating 500 families to adopt a more environmentally friendly attitude by using TD&AD" OB4: "Creation of a TD&AD network at European level to support the transition to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle"

Background

We implemented this project because we want to get involved in finding solutions to reduce the negative impact of household activities on the environment. We believe that adopting more environmentally friendly practices in the family is one way to meet this challenge. The partners identified among local communities the need for awareness, education and motivation of individuals to adopt more environmentally friendly practices in the family. We found that there is a real interest among members of local communities to learn how to protect their environment. Many are aware that their practices are not sustainable, but they do not know what they need to do or how easy it is to get involved. Our answer to these needs was the TD&AD kit, an awareness-learning-motivation tool addressed to parents and children in an intergenerational learning approach. Its elaboration was possible through the collaboration of the partners' trainers after participating in 2 learning activities and the exchange of good practices. For the results of our project to benefit as many organizations as possible, we created the TD&AD network at the European level.
