Background

We applied for the Reimagine Distance Learning project to address critical needs amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted significant gaps in digital competences among adult educators and the urgent necessity for innovative teaching methodologies. The primary needs we aimed to address were enhancing digital skills, improving instructional design capabilities, and increasing the inclusivity and quality of adult education. The pandemic revealed that many educators were unprepared for the swift transition to online teaching, leading to a decline in educational quality and engagement. Additionally, disadvantaged learners faced increased barriers to accessing quality education. By applying for this project, we aimed to equip educators with the necessary digital tools and methodologies to create engaging and effective online learning experiences. Furthermore, we sought to develop resources that could be easily accessed and utilized, thereby promoting inclusivity and ensuring that all learners, regardless of their background, could benefit from high-quality education.
