The main scope of the proposal was to develop an innovative educational framework for Biotech & Economics graduates from Romanian, Spanish, Italian and Greek partners towards a Biotech Green Entrepreneurial pathway, able to support the Biotech sector to solve environmental and climate change problems. The Specific Objectives were as follows: #SO1: To deliver innovative educational resources (new module course & training materials, a learning portal) for Master and PhD students in Biotech & Economics covering the topic of Biotech Green startups/enterprises. #SO2: To develop specific knowledge and competences in Biotech Green Entrepreneurship by direct training of 55 teachers/tutors and 25 Master and PhD students from the Life Science & Economics areas. # SO3: Strengthen the integration of project partners into national and European Biotech Green Entrepreneurial Ecosystems.
Biotechnology is one of the most promising sectors to support the sustainability mission (carbon-neutral, digital and circular society). Teaching and promoting sustainable/green practices amongst biotech stakeholders (education, startups/enterprises, NGOs) is an important action of the Green Deal Pact. The universities can and should do more, particularly by becoming role models for wider society in their own environmental policies and targets. Four higher education institutions (HEIs) were involved in the partnership. Three of them (UASVM Bucharest-Romania, UPV Valencia-Spain and UniPerugia-Italy) are providers of Biotechnological educational programs, and one (RAU, Romania) is a private university providing Business education. The consortium was joined by a Research & Education Center (MAICh, Greece) accredited as a provider for Master level education in the Agri-Food and Business areas. In addition, a Romanian NGO (CBM), oriented toward professional training and consultancy in biotech and environmental topics, is completing the partnership. A weak point detected in the partners’ strategies and their action plans was related to their link with external green entrepreneurial initiatives, mentoring programs and green practices
