What we plan and not only achieved but exceeded by implementing the project was: -We planed to equip 82 specialist from 8 European countries with knowledge and tools as trainers in 3 different SEN working methods. -We aimed to increase professional level of 480 teachers/specialist working with SEN/SLD pupils from partner countries on 3 topics related with SEN/SLD pupils. -We hoped to support informational and emotional development of minimum 240 parents of SEN pupils through seminars and support groups. -Our reached goal was to enhance SEN/SLD pupils rehabilitation and inclusion by providing professionals, parents and institutions the opportunity of interact at local and international level through networks and different kind of on-line and face to face event. We organized trainings, workshops, conferences and support group in all partner countries, where specialists and families interacted.
In order to explain the need of this project we conducted among partners, before submitting application, a brief SWOT analyze regarding our topic. Through surveys conducted in partner countries there were identified: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. We were able to address the identified problems (15-20% of school age population experiences some kind of learning difficulty; more pupils receive an diagnose of autism every year; teachers feeling of not being competent enough to identify problems and to provide effective support; lack of collaboration at school level: between teachers and SEN specialists and between school and family) by putting together our strengths, meaning bringing together different educational institution aware of these issues (3 inclusive schools, 2 School Directorates, 2 training providers-professional associations and an university) and gathering all our information, our experience and good practices, exchanging trainers and trainees to achieve our mutual goal: to support the students development and inclusion by working with educational triangle: SEN/SLD learners-professionals-parents.
