The project aimed to achieve the following objectives: Enhance Training: Develop and implement a new training course for teachers and VET trainers in macroscopic and microscopic metallographic examination, ensuring effective delivery of skills. Address Market Demand: Meet the growing need for standardized training in metallographic examination, aligning with industry requirements for structural materials and joints. Create Harmonized Curriculum: Establish a recognized, quality curriculum at the European level to enhance personnel training and qualifications, ensuring relevance in the labor market. Build Educational Resources: Develop materials and assessment tools including a database and random test generator to simplify evaluation processes for trainers and trainees. Boost Employment: Increase job prospects by equipping individuals with necessary skills, aiming to fill the gap of qualified personnel in metallographic examination. Enable Mobility: Utilize ECVET and Learning Outcomes approach for transparent qualifications, allowing workers to apply skills across European countries, enhancing career opportunities.
The project "Harmonized Distance Learning for Personnel Training for Macro and Microscopic Metallographic Examination of Structural Materials and their Joints" (HIMACROW) was applied to address the needs of SMEs involved in manufacturing activities. The project aims to meet the increasing training requirements and the demand for qualified staff with technical skills in the analysis of materials and welded joints. By improving training capabilities and creating a harmonized curriculum, HIMACROW aims to address the lack of harmonized training and qualification in macroscopic and microscopic metallographic examination. The project also aims to enhance job opportunities in this field and facilitate worker mobility across European countries by utilizing ECVET and the Learning Outcomes approach.
