Objectives

With the use of Beacon BLE technology, the project seeked to assist VET systems in the creation (design, testing, and publication of transferable OERs) of creative Incidental Learning programs. The work context, or an area of activity including procedures, technologies, products, and organizational systems, is what the WBL approach defines as the learning environment. This may be a genuine workplace (businesses) or a simulated one, like labs at VET schools. The training programs assume that students encounter unanticipated critical occurrences and be appropriately prepared to handle them in a workplace that has been specially outfitted with beacon BLE facilities. The project aimed at experimenting training programs based on incidental learning in VET supported by BEACON BLE technology. These programs will be able to combine digital technologies & work-based learning methodology as didactic tools for training and learning. 1) encouraging WBL in VET by putting in place contextual learning environments that mimic real workplaces in industrial areas that are important to each participating country's national economy Research, analysis, and interpretation of information to boost digital and transversal skills in VET learners.

Background

The work market is being profoundly impacted by the speed at which technology and digital transformation is occurring; thus, secondary VET programs are no longer sufficient in providing students with the technical and professional skills and knowledge they need. The emergence of digital workplaces necessitates that younger generations acquire transdisciplinary competencies pertaining to novel digital technologies. -transversal abilities, such data collection, analysis, and interpretation; communication and collaboration; problem solving and critical thinking. An additional layer of intricacy arises from the growing demand on sustainable production regulations that the EU sector faces, as outlined by the European Green Deal and the UN Agenda 2030 Goals. Since the VET sector is the primary source for hiring the future workforce, it is imperative that green skills be taught there as well in order for VET providers to assist and partner with the shift to more environmentally friendly industrial and manufacturing processes. In order to solve these issues, the BEACON project encourages work-based, digital, and green innovation in VET curriculum. These systems, more than others, prepare professionals for rapid entry into the workforce.
