Objectives

DigiTISE wished to digitalise low digital-leveled teachers and prepare them to carry on qualitative online lessons by: (1). Transferring them the know-how on 15 different types of digital tools, and offering them resources to be able to integrate these tools successfully in online teaching, thus to make the learning process more efficient and innovative and the teaching process more qualitative. (2). Increase the digital literacy of teachers- with the help of a series of MOOC courses - and make them capable of reaching the minimum digital-competence requirements any teacher should possess.

Background

The DigiTISE project started in the context of the pandemic situation of COVID-19, during which educational establishments have implemented an online teaching set-up. The main need staying at the core of the project was that neither the schools nor the teachers have been fully prepared for carrying out high-quality and efficient online teaching processes. The most disadvantaged in this sense were senior teachers and educators with low digital skills, so the project engaged them as the main target groups. VET teachers, who besides theoretical knowledge have to deliver practical skills, were also targeted. As the needs & expectations of learners changed and online education setups are still popular even after the pandemic, the needs staying at the core of the project are still very much relevant.
