The impact of digitalisation will only increase over time. In the future, it is very likely that education will rely on digital platforms to help students master the material. Unlike the traditional system, where only presence in the school and classroom determines the way of working, digitalization provides opportunities to overcome many shortcomings. This primarily refers to access to digital educational resources such as online libraries, multimedia and useful links. In this way, teachers, in addition to working on their own subject, provide students with a more versatile education through the use of new technologies, problem solving, reporting, collaboration, improving media literacy and social responsibility. Teachers can motivate students with additional individualization of work, because digitalization enables adaptation of work and teaching material to the individual characteristics of each student. Accessibility, i.e. students with developmental difficulties have equal chances, which later enables greater inclusivity.
Digital education, often called e-learning, is the use of new digital tools and trends in learning and teaching. In recent years, since the time of the pandemic, there has been a rise in distance learning, but also blended learning — where face-to-face learning overlaps with online learning, allowing users to enjoy flexibility in learning and improve their own achievements. With the greater influence of digitalisation in teaching, teachers are looking for new ways to motivate students and assess their knowledge. This includes not only computer and Internet use, but also digital content, technology use, and online instruction. Simply put, digitalisation has completely changed the way of working in the modern school and imposed the necessity of professional development in the application of digital technologies for all who want to advance their careers in the field of education.
