Bar Social aimed to develop a cooperating network with like-minded organizations for the purpose of contributing its practical expertise in humanist values and active citizenship to Strategic Partnership proposals in the Adult field. Enabling and complementary to the above is the organization’s design to develop a transnational network of competent partners in the European projects field as well as acquiring key expertise in crucial areas for the accomplishment of said European upscaling in the organization’s activities (i.e. Project Management, Training, Project Design, Dissemination, Volunteers’ management) as well as for translating the competences, methodologies, knowledge possessed and acquired in Erasmus Plus projects into a positive impact on targeted realities in Sweden by means of developing the internal capacities of staff. The project addressed the necessity of taking action on the phenomenon of social radicalization of disadvantaged groups. In order to foster and develop relevant skills and competencies inherent to prevent radicalization, the projects' modular design put active citizenship and social inclusion as principal tools to smoothly achieve efficient and impactful learning outcomes.
Föreningen Bar Social focuses mainly on social awareness, urban development, food culture, and social entrepreneurship, but also on other art and cultural events. In doing so, the organization has developed a series of collaborations and synergies with a variety of stakeholders. The board members and the employers have also extensive knowledge of urban social issues as well as experience in participating in projects funded by the European Union. The approach of the organisation regarding its participation in the project is two-fold: on one hand Bar Social led the project by supervising the methodology, the process, and the tools used in order to ensure the achievement of the project objectives; while on the same time, Bar Social actively strikes to raise awareness about both the project itself and its results in Sweden while, where possible, maximizing synergies with other EU-funded projects, EU initiatives and the EU representation in Sweden.
