Halmstad University's (HU) vision is to add value, drive innovation, and prepare people and society for the future. Going abroad to study or train helps students, teachers, and staff develop their professional, social, and intercultural skills and enhance their employability. Higher education students undertaking a mobility period abroad are more likely to find employment one year after graduation. European ministers have agreed to increase the proportion of students in higher education completing a study or training period abroad to 20 percent by 2020. Therefore, the support for mobility in Erasmus+ is key to reaching this ambitious goal. For Halmstad University to increase mobility, we aim to develop closer long-term strategic relationships, including student and teaching mobility. Through the Erasmus program and strategic partnerships, we can achieve increased outgoing student mobility and internationalisation at home through incoming exchange students and international perspectives brought into education through teaching mobility. The project's overall objectives correspond to the key goals in HU Erasmus Policy Statements for the program period 2021-2027 and the development plan for internationalisation 2021-2025 at HU.
