At Karlstad University we aim to make internationalisation an integral part of our operations. One of our ambitions is to help students become more competitive and equip them with the skills needed to be successful and play an active role in society, by learning foreign languages, acquiring intercultural skills and adopting international perspectives and values. We also seek to increase internationalisation amongst staff to make the university as a whole more sensitive to international perspectives. These investments will not only benefit on a personal level, but also on the organisational and societal levels. The implementation of the project is an effective way to achieve these goals, by increasing mobility and the opportunities for internationalisation, and to promote European values generally. It also connects directly to our strategic vision for 2030 indicating a high engagement of internationalisation. Through the programme we are given the opportunity to collaborate with partners and engage in networks worldwide. With the new aspects of Erasmus+, the international dimension, increased flexibility for doctoral students and short blended mobility, we see potential to increase participation in international activities.
