RELEARN aims to create a platform that connects high-quality, trustworthy academic research with courses and learning materials, monitored by trained university staff. Its objectives are to: a) Develop a system that supports university libraries and online research databases, integrating research with teaching through AI components and user-monitored databases. Research is a core pillar of higher education, and digital transformation is reshaping how research and education communicate. Online journals, open-access datasets, and platforms like Google Scholar and ResearchGate have revolutionized knowledge production and dissemination. However, the Covid-19 crisis accelerated the need for digital tools in education, highlighting the importance of technology in teaching and learning. RELEARN partners analyzed best practices from university research databases, teaching platforms, and national repositories, identifying key issues: the lack of comprehensive research systems for university staff and the public, outdated digital tools for teaching and distance learning, insufficient focus on media and information literacy, and a lack of digital competence for distance learning among educators and students. In response, RELEARN aims to provide a practical platform for accessing learning materials, courses, and research data, while enhancing key digital skills with online guidelines to support both teachers and students.
