Background

Through an initial SWOT analysis it became evident that educators (at primary, secondary and tertiary levels) required skill enhancement to integrate SDGs into their teaching. The primary aim was to offer professional development opportunities to educators and foster a green transition, equipping them with competencies, knowledge, and digital tools to address the importance of sustainable development and its associated challenges. We addressed the following needs: - to promote attitude and behaviour changes to combat climate change - empower learners as active agents of change to create a more sustainable society - to engage students in understanding the importance of sustainability and addressing global challenges - to have access to high-quality teaching and learning materials on SDGs that are aligned to the curriculum - fulfil the need for professional development opportunities for educators to enhance their skills in delivering interdisciplinary lessons focused on sustainability.
